Many patients report minor skin irritation, redness, and swelling immediately following the procedure. However, these side effects normally disappear within a few days. Three to seven days after treatment you may experience what seems to be regrowth of hair. Most of these hairs are being shed as a result of your treatment and are not regrowing. You should not wax or pluck your hair between treatments, but you can shave.
Following treatment, you can return to your normal activities right away, but some redness may occur. Sunscreen is recommended on treated areas exposed to the sun. Your physician may also recommend you use a formulated skin care product line or prescribe a skin care regimen for your skin type.
Over the course of treatment, hair will become softer, thinner, lighter and eventually fall out and not grow back.
While laser hair removal is considered a permanent solution to unwanted hair, a “touch-up treatment” every two to three years may be needed.
How does laser hair removal compare to other hair removal methods?
Shaving, waxing, and depilatory creams are all temporary methods which must be repeated on a frequent basis. Treatment with our systems provide permanent hair reduction for lasting results.
How does it compare to electrolysis?
Electrolysis is a tedious, invasive, and painful process that involves inserting a needle into each individual hair follicle and delivering an electrical charge to them one at a time. It often requires years of treatments at regular intervals. By delivering light energy to hundreds of hair follicles at a time, our systems effectively treat an area in just seconds that would take over an hour with electrolysis.
Why choose laser hair removal with your system over other systems?
We use the latest technology in laser hair removal – the MotusAZ+. The MotusAZ+ laser can rapidly treat large areas and more skin types without the limitations of older technologies. The MotusAZ+ systems use longer wavelengths, allowing them to be used safely and effectively on patients with light or dark skin as well as tanned skin. It can treat the fine hair on a woman’s upper lip just as easily and effectively as the coarse hair on a man’s back. The cooled hand piece increases patient comfort and minimizes the adverse skin reaction commonly seen with other lasers.
