Types of Fillers for Face

When it comes to rejuvenating your face, exploring the different types of fillers for face revitalization to enhance your natural beauty can be a game-changer. These non-surgical solutions smooth out wrinkles, restore lost volume, and contour facial features. At Knox Dermatology, we specialize in providing personalized treatment plans using a variety of facial fillers, including Bellafill and hyaluronic acid fillers.

Exploring the Various Types of Fillers for Face at Knox Dermatology

Dermal fillers are substances injected under the skin to restore volume, smooth lines, and enhance facial features. This is so appealing to many because as we age, our skin loses collagen, leading to sagging and wrinkles. Dermal fillers can help counteract these signs of aging by adding volume and stimulating collagen production for a more youthful appearance.

Your Options in Types of Fillers for Face at Knox Dermatology

There are several types of fillers for face enhancement available, each with its unique properties and benefits.

Bellafill

Bellafill®, a semi-permanent filler, is known for its collagen-stimulating properties. It consists of tiny polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) microspheres suspended within a base of smooth collagen gel. Bellafill® is the only FDA-approved dermal filler that stimulates collagen growth safely and effectively for up to 5 years. As a result, 80% of what you see and feel after treatment is your own collagen at work.

Once injected, Bellafill® immediately reduces the look of smile lines, and over time, your body uses the microspheres to create a “scaffold” onto which your own collagen can develop. This collagen forms a foundation that adds volume to wrinkles, reducing their appearance.

Hyaluronic Acid Fillers

Hyaluronic acid (HA) attracts moisture to the skin, and less HA means less moisture, which can contribute to sagging and drooping skin. HA fillers, like Versa, are temporary types of fillers for face enhancement that last between 1 year to 18 months. They can be used on the cheeks and nasolabial folds (laugh lines) but are most often used in the lips, especially when patients are unsure if they will enjoy their new look since it is not permanent like Bellafill®.

Other popular HA fillers include Restylane and Juvederm, which are also collagen-stimulating and therefore more permanent. It’s important to note that with collagen-stimulating dermal fillers, you are building on the foundation you already have instead of starting over from scratch when you return for more after a year.

Transform Your Appearance with the Right Types of Fillers for Face

The choice between HA and collagen-stimulating fillers depends on your individual needs and aesthetic goals. For example, Bellafill® is an excellent choice for individuals who are positive about how they want their appearance improved. On the other hand, HA fillers are usually temporary, so you can change your mind after they dissolve or even have it dissolved if you are unsatisfied. At Knox Dermatology, we will create a custom treatment plan to determine the filler areas needed to reach your skincare goals with the best results.
